Night drags on. Beyond the silence of my room, I hear chirping of crickets And the howls of wind passing through branches. The leaves rattle, chaotic in contrast to the insectile symphony. The cricket's song is shattered, destroyed. Yet night drags on.
Night drags on, Filling me with dread. I rub my eyes and think of sleep. I know it will not happen, it never does. I stay awake, wasting time, trying to read, But I cannot focus. Still, night drags on.
Night drags on. Why won't it end? What have I done to you, The stars, and moon? I beg for you to allow me to slip into sleep. And yet still this night drags on.
